India star batter Virat Kohli lost his wicket to Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood after scoring just 5 runs off 12 deliveries at the Optus Stadium in Perth.
Kohli had no answer to Hazlewood’s delivery which had an extra bounce and ended up nicking Kohli’s bat before travelling straight into wicketkeeper Alex Carey’s hands. This is the fourth time that Hazlewood got Kohli’s wicket in red-ball cricket.
Kohli came to bat on the crease with India reeling at 14/2. However, he wasn’t able to trouble the scores much and departed back to the dugout leaving the Men in Blue at 32/3 after 16.2 overs. With this knock, even more pressure mounted on the 36-year-old.
India didn’t have a good start to the Test match at all as after winning the toss and electing to bat first, the Men in Blue lost a total of 4 wickets within the first session itself at the score of 51.
