Customers are flocking down to their nearest Asda stores to pick up the Silver Heated Winged Clothes Airer from George.

The easy to use product is normally sold for £40 but Asda is currently running a tempting offer with it being available for only £26.

It weighs just 5kg and can be easily folded up for storage like a regular drying rack.

But what makes the aluminium Asda airer such a tempting purchase is that it comes with a built in heater.

Simply set it up as usual and place your damp, clean clothes between the rungs before plugging it in to an electrical outlet in your home.

After just a few minutes it will begin to heat up and leave your clothes perfectly toasty in just a few minutes.

It is also able to extend outwards through its clever winged design meaning you can always squeeze on an extra pair of socks of favourite t-shirt.

The bargain find was quickly posted on social media to be enjoyed by others with hundreds tagging their friends online and urging them to grab the ideal festive item.

One excited shopper told her mate: “They are so good.”

As another said: “I need one asap.”

A third told her pal: “I want one that’s such a bargain.”

The product has received amazing reviews with many even noting how much cash they have saved from not using their tumble dryer or turning on radiators to dry their clothes.

The price of running a tumble dryer depends on what type of machine you buy.

But on average, Uswitch estimates a tumble dryer uses roughly 4.5 kWh of energy per cycle – meaning you’ll be coughing up roughly 67p per wash.

For big families who do three loads of washing a week, that could mean you’re spending £104.52 a year tumble drying your clothes.

The electricity needed to power the airer is far less meaning you could save a lot of cash by switching to the gadget.

A similar product that can help you save on bills this winter is a Blyss 16l/d Dehumidifier from B&Q.

The gadget can help keep the house from getting mouldy and it dries clothes quickly.

The dehumidifier costs just 35p to run for an hour – a considerable difference from running the heating for an hour which will cost £1.50.

Other useful gadgets to consider investing in include USB hand warmers, heated insoles or an electric gilet.

They all use up less than 1p an hour to run making them perfect for the colder nights on a budget.

More winter laundry tips

TACKLING laundry in the winter can be a challenge, but these handy tips can help you stay on top of it...

  • Use a Dehumidifier: Place a dehumidifier in your drying area to speed up the drying process and prevent dampness.
  • Spin Cycle Boost: Run an extra spin cycle on your washing machine to remove excess water from clothes, reducing drying time.
  • Indoor Drying Rack: Invest in a good-quality indoor drying rack and position it near a radiator or in a well-ventilated room.
  • Tumble Dryer Balls: Add tumble dryer balls to your dryer to help clothes dry faster and reduce static cling.
  • Space-Saving Hangers: Use space-saving hangers or a retractable washing line to maximise indoor drying space.
  • Microfibre Towels: Lay microfibre towels over your drying rack to absorb extra moisture from hanging clothes.
  • Partially Dry Outside: On dry days, hang clothes outside for a short period before bringing them in to finish drying.

These hacks can help you keep your laundry routine efficient and your clothes fresh, even during the colder months.
