Preview: Partick Thistle (H)

0

Hibs Women return to Meadowbank Stadium after over a month on the road as Partick Thistle visit the capital this weekend.

Our first home fixture this month kicks off at 1pm on Sunday 24 November.

The Lowdown

Grant Scott's side reclaimed bragging rights over city rivals Hearts last time out.

Rosie Livingstone was the hero as she came off the bench to score the game-winner on 82 minutes, sealing a memorable Edinburgh Derby victory at Tynecastle Park in the process.

With the derby win last Sunday, Hibs lifted the Capital Cup in front of an elated away support in Gorgie and kept their impressive unbeaten run in all competitions going.

The Hibees are now unbeaten in their last seven fixtures - six wins and one draw - during a tricky run that includes five away matches.

The three points accumulated from the derby result lifted Hibs above league holders Celtic into fourth-place in the ScottishPower Women's Premier League standings.

The Visitors

Partick Thistle currently sit seventh in the league table after a frustrating result last weekend.

The battle for the final top six spot already appears to be largely between the Jags and their most recent opponents Motherwell, who held one another to a 1-1 tie on Sunday at Petershill Park.

The score draw - which Thistle earned through a second-half Tiree Burchill equaliser following a first-half own goal - kept Brian Graham's side one point behind sixth-place Motherwell for the time being.

The Jags have under-performed and struggled for form in the autumn months considering the quality in their squad, winning just once in their last six league games since the beginning of October.

One such defeat was at the hands of the Hibees on Sunday 10 November, when a Poppy Lawson opener and Kathleen McGovern hat-trick secured a 4-1 win for the girls in Glasgow.
