Lidl has urgently recalled one of their salad items over fears it may contain copper.

The supermarket’s Meadow Fresh Potato Salads might be unsafe to eat after traces of the metal were found.

This includes the 500g products with yoghurt and with crème fraiche.

The use by dates include: 7 December, 12 December, 13 December, 14 December, 16 December, 21 December and 23 December.

The Food Standards Agency said: ‘These products may contain pieces of copper which makes them unsafe to eat.

‘If you have bought the above products do not eat them.

‘Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.’

Tesco issued an urgent product recall on its Tzatziki Dip after Salmonella was found in the product.

The recall was issued this morning for tubs of the supermarket’s 200g dip with a best-before date of 24/11/20204 printed on the lid.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps, which can last for around 4 to 7 days.

Diarrhoea can often be severe enough to require hospital admission.

Consumers have been advised not to eat the implicated batch and to return it to the point of sale.
