Onitsuka Tiger and Patou Collaborate on Ballet Flats, and Pink Twists on the Mexico 66 Sneaker and More Styles
Celebrating its 75th anniversary, Japanese footwear brand Onitsuka Tiger partnered with French label Patou to create a collaborative collection featuring ballet flats and more silhouettes. Released on Nov. 20, the shoes are described as “A perfect mix of sport, playfulness, and sophistication.” Claudia Sulewski stars in a Parisian-set campaign for the collection.
The collection includes the Mexico 66, ballet flats and the Mexico Rinkan Boots. The Mexico 66, a popular sneaker from Onitsuka Tiger, is reinterpreted in a pink and black colorway, among other options, featuring grosgain-adorned lines in a nod to Patou’s signature feature. The tiger logo is re-envisioned as a removable charm which also features the Patou name. The shoe is made with Nappa leather and retails for $345, though it is already sold out in the black and pink colorway on Patou’s website.
A dance-inspired flat with a rounded toe is also available; the ballet flat comes in a white and pink colorway and a black and white iteration featuring the same recognizable stripes detailed with grosgain. Two straps stretching across the foot create a variation of the Mary Jane aesthetic. The Ballerina retails for $345 is also currently sold out from Patou as of Nov. 20 in the pink and white colorway and black and white option.
Lastly, the Mexico Rinkan Boots are an ankle-length silhouette available in a suede pink and beige option as well as a light pink and dark pink option. The back tab, also featuring grosgain, pays homage to Patou. The style is marked at a price of $370 and is currently still available in some sizes from Patou.
