Islamabad: The Internet is full of astonishing stories and videos that capture global attention. Every day, as you scroll through your feed, you’re likely to stumble upon jaw-dropping accounts or unexpected events that leave a lasting impression. Recently, a short video from Gujranwala, Pakistan, has gone viral, showcasing an extravagant feast hosted by a family reportedly identifying as beggars.

Well, the lavish event, held in memory of their grandmother’s 40th-day posthumous rites (Chehlum), was attended by approximately 20,000 guests. The family is said to have spent around 1.25 crore Pakistani rupees (over 5 crore Indian rupees) on the event, which included the slaughter of 250 goats(reportedly) for an elaborate menu featuring traditional Pakistani dishes.

The event, held near the Rahwali Railway Station in Gujranwala, brought together thousands of attendees from across Punjab. The gathering featured a lavish menu with traditional Pakistani delicacies, including biryani, korma, and other local favorites. Guests were reportedly transported to the venue in nearly 2,000 arranged vehicles, adding to the grandeur of the occasion.

The family reportedly served an impressive menu for the event, starting with lunch that included traditional dishes like siri paye, murabba (sweet preserves), and a variety of meat-based delicacies. Dinner was no less lavish, featuring tender mutton dishes, naan matar ganj (a type of sweet rice), and several desserts.

Videos from the feast quickly gained traction on social media, with many attendees marveling at the event’s sheer scale and grandeur. While some praised the family’s generosity, others questioned the source of funds for such an elaborate gathering. Social media users humorously highlighted the paradox of a beggar family hosting an event of this magnitude, sparking debates about the reality behind the viral video.
