Railroad Association preserves history of local trains
SCHOHARIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Train Show is pulling into town. Some of the experts that will be there include a model train club from Schoharie County that is preserving the rich history of locomotives in the area.
The newest addition to the collection is a recreation of the Stockade District in Schenectady from 1880. It was built from scratch by the late musician Rhett Tyler.
"He really wanted to recreate this area in all its glory."
"Rhett put a ton of love into his railroad. We just couldn't let something like this get thrown out."
The Albany Train Show starts at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, in the Polish Community Center.
