  • Jeff Bezos' Gulfstream G650ER private jet is for sale for about $39 million.
  • The 2015 jet is the oldest in Bezos' fleet. He recently bought a new Gulfstream G700.
  • Bezos and other celebrities have faced criticism for high carbon emissions from private jets.

Billionaire Jeff Bezos appears to be selling one of his multimillion-dollar private jets.

A Gulfstream G650ER, registered N271DV, is listed for about $39 million on the aviation marketplace Controller. A new G650ER goes for $65 million.

Federal Aviation Administration data shows the 2015 Gulfstream is registered to a holding company called Poplar Glen LLC. Washington state records from 2004, when the firm was created, show that Bezos owns the company.

In April records, Poplar Glen's governor is listed as Paul Dauber, one of Bezos' attorneys.

Bezos, his attorney, nor the G650ER's listing agent immediately responded to a request for comment.

The listing photos show a beige and brown interior with several living areas. The description says there are meeting rooms, lavatories, and couches on board, and there is space for up to 14 passengers.

Data from the aircraft-tracking website JetSpy shows that the listed private plane is one of four owned by Bezos. He also owns another G650ER, a Pilatus PC-24, and a Gulfstream G700. Bezos bought the $80 million private G700 in August.

Jet-tracking hobbyist Jack Sweeney was the first to spot the listing.

It's not clear why Bezos is selling his G650ER, but it is about 10 years old and the oldest aircraft in the fleet. His other planes were acquired in 2019 or later.

JetSpy data shows that his for-sale jet flew 224 hours across 73 flights in 2024, costing about $677,000 in fuel and emitting about 1,100 tons of carbon. His fleet has flown about 850 hours across 334 flights this year, costing about $2.3 million in fuel and releasing about 3,600 tons of carbon, according to JetSpy estimates.

Bezos and other celebrities have received backlash in recent years for their carbon emissions. The British non-governmental collective Oxfam published a report in October that said two of Bezos' jets alone emitted the same amount of carbon as an average US Amazon employee would over 207 years.

Taylor Swift has faced a similar jet usage backlash. In January, the singer quietly downsized her private plane fleet to one when she sold her Dassault Falcon 900.

Meanwhile, the music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has listed his jet for charter as he awaits trial on federal charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
