Rayne man dies in two-vehicle crash, police say
ACADIA PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A 59-year-old Rayne man died in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Highway 90 near Ebenezer Road, Louisiana State Police announced.
In a news release, troopers said the crash claimed the life of Gilbert Price Jr.
The crash was reported around 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Troopers said Billy Kritzer, of Youngsville, was driving a 2002 Ford Escape east on Highway 90 at the same time Price was driving west on the highway.
"For reasons still under investigation, the Escape crossed the centerline into the westbound lane and struck the Sonoma head-on," Troopers said in a news release.
Kritzer, who was wearing a seat belt, was seriously injured in the crash, troopers said. Kritzer was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Troopers said Price was not using a seat belt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
