Hyde Park woman killed in Dutchess County crash
PLEASANT VALLEY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- New York State Police are investigating a fatal crash that took place in Pleasant Valley on Friday. The crash occurred around 7:10 p.m. on Sherow Road.
The investigation by state police determined that the driver of a Honda sedan heading east on Sherow Road reportedly drove past a stop sign and went through the intersection with North Avenue. The car then collided with the barrier on North Avenue's east shoulder.
The driver was taken to Vassar Brother’s Medical Center to be treated for serious injuries. The car's passenger, Dawn Pociask, 53, of Hyde Park, was taken to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital, where she was later declared dead. The crash investigation remains ongoing.
