Duke Slips By South Dakota State
A tight game for the Blue Devils but a good prep for later.
Duke took an interesting roadtrip Monday, heading out to Brookings, South Dakota to take on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. It might not sound like a challenging opponent, but SDSU is pretty tough and it wasn’t an easy win for the Blue Devils, but they prevailed, 75-71.
South Dakota State has already beaten Rice, Creighton and Wisconsin, so yes, they’re pretty good.
Duke led most of the way, but the Jackrabbits took the lead in the third quarter, but only by a basket.
SDSU cut the lead to 74-71 before fouling in the closing seconds. Duke hit one of two and that was that.
Jadyn Donovan had a monster game with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Ashlon Jackson had 18 points and four assists while Vanessa de Jesus finished with 13 points and four assists.
