Columbus food hall, cheesecake shop hold pumpkin pie eating contest

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) - A food hall is holding a contest for anyone who loves to eat more than one slice of pumpkin pie cheesecake.

Budd Dairy Food Hall is holding its first pumpkin pie cheesecake eating contest on Nov. 22. The competition will be held at The Cheesecake Girl stall. Contestants will go head to head and try to eat the most slices of dessert.

Groups will be put together based off age and will have 10 minutes to eat as much as they can. Not only do contestants have to try to eat several slices, but the contest also requires participants to indulge in the pies without using their hands or utensils.

Winners of the contest will receive a free 9 inch cheesecake order for the holiday season from The Cheesecake Girl. The bakery opened its first storefront in April 2020 in the Shoppes at River Ridge, according to the company website. Once the store launched, it opened inside Budd Dairy as a vendor in 2021. Eventually, the shop started shipping cheesecakes nationwide in January 2022, while opening more locations across central Ohio.
