Josh Abbott Band to headline Longhorn City Limits
AUSTIN (KXAN) -- Josh Abbott Band will perform as the headliner at Longhorn City Limits on Saturday before the Texas football game against Kentucky.
The free concert will happen on the LBJ Lawn, with country artist Mason Lively kicking off the show at 11 a.m., followed by Josh Abbott Band at 12:30 p.m., according to UT.
The Josh Abbott Band (JAB) is known for hits like, "Oh, Tonight" featuring Kacey Musgraves, "Wasn't That Drunk" with Carly Pearce and more, the release said.
"With their relentless touring spirit and a sound that has evolved into a powerful mix of authenticity and innovation, JAB has earned countless accolades including Texas Country Band of the Year and multiple honors from the Academy of Texas Music Awards," UT said in the release.
Lively is described as an artist who "is going places in country music and beyond," according to UT. He released his debut album in 2018, "Stronger Ties," and then released his sophomore self-titled album in 2021, the release said.
In addition to JAB and Lively performing, the "fan favorite postgame silent disco" is also returning to LCL.
"Featuring three live DJs, fans who attend will receive a pair of wireless headphones and the ability to choose between three different channels," UT said.
Those attending can snag some swag from Still Austin Whiskey Co., enjoy some Pinkerton's BBQ and have some beer served at "pregame happy hour pricing," the release said.
“We can’t wait to have Longhorn Nation join us one more time as we look forward to amazing performances by Josh Abbott Band and Mason Lively to cap off a fantastic lineup all season long," Chris Del Conte, UT athletics director, said in the release.
