Dutchess County deputy dies after battle with cancer
DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Dutchess County Sheriff's Office announced that Deputy Sheriff Nicholas Gasparre died on Friday after a battle with cancer. He was 36.
Gasparre had been with the sheriff's office since 2017. He earned the rank of Lance Corporal while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was previously a volunteer firefighter for the Beekman Fire District.
Gasparre leaves behind his wife and their young daughter. Visitation services will be held on November 22 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, located at 895 Route 82 in Hopewell Junction.
