'It's a tragedy': Teen killed in NE Oklahoma City shooting

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - Teagas Voboda’s relaxing Saturday night was abruptly interrupted when he and his girlfriend heard gunshots outside their Northeast Oklahoma City home around 8 p.m.

“That was chaos, and it's a tragedy,” said Voboda. “We kind of came up to the window and we heard ‘bap bap bap bap bap’ and I poked my head out the window, and I saw those gentlemen over there carrying that young man."

The gunfire happened in a neighborhood near Kelley and Wilshire. Voboda said he ran outside to help the victim.

"I tried doing CPR on the young man, and then when cops showed up, I just switched off,” said Voboda. “People around him were saying, 'He's only 15. Oh, my God.'"

The Oklahoma City Police Department said the victim, identified as Jordan Gulley, died at an area hospital.

"There were several people that were interviewed out there, several people detained. But again, no arrests have been made in the case at this point in the investigation,” said Sgt. Dillon Quirk with OKCPD. “It's really unclear what the motive was, what led up to the shooting, as we don't have anybody in custody to kind of figure that part out yet.”

A memorial is now set up in the neighborhood to honor the young man.

"It's too bad, I mean, because he's such a young boy… Life is just beginning at 15. Poor guy,” said Voboda. “It's hard to say what it was about but it definitely didn't need to be this."
