EXPLAINED: Madrid's new crackdown on city centre tourist rentals

In a bid to put a stop to illegal tourist apartments in the Spanish capital and to prevent residents from being priced out of the historic city centre, Madrid's mayor has split the city in two when it comes to the new rules for holiday lets.
