Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good Make Big Relationship Announcement
Jonathan Majors and Meagan Good are engaged after about a year and a half of dating. The couple began seeing each other in May 2023, just two months after Majors was arrested on assault charges stemming from a domestic abuse incident involving his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
Majors, 35, and Good, 43, shared the news with E! News correspondent Francesca Amiker on the red carpet at the Ebony Power 100 Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday. When asked how they were feeling, Good said with a laugh, "In love. That's my answer." Amiker then asked Good whether Majors was "the one," to which she quickly admitted, "Yeah."
"Ebony Power 100 is the event that we met at in the bathrooms, in the unisex bathroom," Good said of the 2022 event where they first became acquainted.
The Harlem actress has, for better or worse, stayed by Majors' side throughout the assault trial, which began on Nov. 29, 2023. He was eventually found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the third degree and a charge of harassment, and sentenced to 52 weeks of a domestic violence intervention program and probation in April 2024.
Prior to the domestic incident, Majors had been heavily intertwined in the MCU with his role of Kang the Conqueror. However, following his conviction, Marvel Studios parted ways with the actor and was forced to retool the upcoming Avengers movie to eliminate his character.
Good opened up about her relationship with Majors in an appearance on Today back in July, when asked if her family and friends advised her to wait before getting into a relationship until after the pending trial.
"At the end of the day, one thing I know is that I can always look myself in the mirror when I trust my spirit, when I trust God, when I ask God, when I move to the beat of my own drum—I can always look and say, ‘I’m proud of that,'" she said at the time. "Whatever happens, I have peace in my heart and I have harmony in my heart."
"I take everyone’s opinion and advice into account, for sure, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who has to live my life," Good continued. "I’m the one who has to get to Heaven one day, prayerfully, and give God an account of what I did. So, I want to be responsible for the choices that I make. I also want to live the life that I want to live."
