SC issues notice to Centre over vacancies in Debt Recovery Tribunals

The Supreme Court is demanding answers from the Finance Ministry regarding numerous vacancies in Debt Recovery Tribunals (DRTs) nationwide. A petition argues that roughly a third of DRTs are paralyzed due to a lack of Presiding Officers, hindering their ability to recover debts for financial institutions and violating the right to timely justice.
