Interpol red notice sought against British businessman

MANILA, Philippines – A Philippine company has sought an Interpol Red Notice against a British businessman accused of swindling it of P12 million.

Rheana Trading Incorporated’s (RTI) legal counsel Cecilio Jimenez requested the Philippine National Police (PNP) for a red notice against Lavish Mohan Paryani. RTI is engaged in the wholesale distribution of electronic parts and communications equipment.

The Department of Justice indicted Paryani and co-accused Regina Reyes last month for estafa or violation of Article 315, paragraph 2(D) of the Revised Penal Code.

The estafa case was filed before the Pasay Regional Trial Court which immediately issued an arrest warrant on October 11.

While Reyes was arrested by authorities, Paryani was able to leave the Philippines and remains at-large. His last known address was in Porter Ranch, California, USA.

In a letter addressed to Special Envoy on Transnational Crime Ambassador Anthony Alcantara, the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) endorsed RTI’s request for an Interpol Red Notice.

“This recommendation aligns with the Anti-Money Laundering Act, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Reorganization Act, and Human Security Act, which mandate international cooperation to apprehend individuals involved in transnational crimes impacting Philippine entities,” PNP-CIDG acting Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas Torre III said in his letter to Alcantara.

“I respectfully urge the Philippine Center for Transnational Crime to coordinate with Interpol on this matter,” he said.
