250 families supported for Thanksgiving at Fort Riley

FORT RILEY (KSNT) - A 16 year tradition continues at Fort Riley this holiday season.

It's the annual Turkey Run Hosted by the Kansas American Legion. Families located on the post got the opportunity to receive a full thanksgiving dinner to cook for the holiday.

Veterans and supporters of the Kansas American Legion collected and distributed the food items to the families.

"Being able to see our families coming in and just... there's just a sense of joy that they have and their receiving the food and knowing that their gonna have a good Thanksgiving," Jerry Nunziatio, Garrison Commander at Fort Riley, said.

The Turkey Run was able to support 250 families this Thanksgiving.
