Strictly’s Dianne Buswell breaks down in tears and is comforted by Chris McCausland in emotional moment

STRICTLY Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell was left in tears after opening the show alongside Chris McCausland.

The pro dancer was left overcome with emotion after securing a huge 37 out of 40 for their American Smooth to Jump.

As the huge scores were read out, Dianne held her hand to her mouth as the so-called Claudatorium erupted into cheers for the dancing pair.

Visibly emotional, Chris hugged Dianne as they celebrated their huge score.

But for Dianne, she struggled to regain her composure as tears streamed down her face.

Addressing her tears, show host Claudia Winkleman said aloud: “Dianne is crying!

“You look emotional – this is your highest score!”

Dianne wiped the tears from her eyes as Claudia continued to congratulate the pair.

As the BBC host began to read the voting details for the couple, the camera remained on Chris and Dianne as he embraced her tightly amid her emotional state.

Before hearing their scores, Dianne expressed how grateful she was to be performing in the iconic Blackpool Tower ballroom.

She revealed how she was unable to afford the travel to the North West town as a child living in Australia.

Dianne told how she made “two dollars fifty” running a lemonade stand outside her house Down Under which she created in order to raise funds to take her to Blackpool.

She said: “Living in Australia, it is very far away from here and mum and dad always used to say to me that we can’t afford to take you to Blackpool.

“I said ‘I’ll do anything’ so I made the lemonade stand!”
