Veteran Receives a Brand New Roof thanks to an Acadiana business
CARENCRO, La. (KLFY) -- Anna Olivier with Jim Olivier's Roofing Louisiana says they are currently in the middle of their Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project through which they provide veterans in need with a brand-new roof with no expense.
Anna Olivier (Owner: Jim Olivier's Roofing Louisiana): "We love to give back to our community, and especially to the men and women who have served our country and given us our freedoms."
This week Olivier is in Carencro bringing this new roof to veteran Ronald Comeaux who was drafted to the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Ronald Comeaux (US Army Veteran): "In 1966 I took basic training and A.I.T. at Fort Polk Louisiana. November 4th, 1966, I was shipped to Germany. And that's where I shared my time.
Through the Owens Corning Roof Deployment project, Olivier says they got to know Comeaux and his struggle of not being able to afford a new roof as he feared for leaks and floods during harsh weather like Acadiana faced on November 12TH.
With his roof being finished and bringing a new sense of safety, Comeaux shares his gratitude.
Ronald Comeaux: "I appreciate everything Anna and her people are doing. It really means a lot to me because I really couldn't afford a new roof without them helping me. And I'll be able to sleep at night, won't have to worry about it raining in my house."
