Dolly Parton‘s family has suffered a loss.

On Friday (November 15), we learned that the 78-year-old country music icon’s brother, David, has sadly passed away at the age of 82.

The singer’s sister, Stella, confirmed the news and paid tribute to her brother.

“My brother David passed away peacefully this morning. It’s never easy to say goodbye to a loved one but he got his angel wings and is now at peace,” Stella wrote in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter).

Stella took to Facebook on Saturday morning to thank fans for their support, writing, Thank you for all your kind thoughts to my family as we continue to grieve the loss of our much loved and cherished older brother David.”

Dolly does not appear to have commented on the sad news yet. We are thinking of her at this difficult time.
