Hillsboro Hops accept waitlist deposits for 2026 opening of $120 million ballpark
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Hillsboro Hops are allowing fans to secure spots in their swanky new ballpark ahead of its opening in about a year and a half.
The Minor League Baseball team started accepting waitlist deposits for the 2026 season, which commences on Apr. 3 at 6:35 p.m., on Thursday.
"We are thrilled to begin accepting deposits for our new state-of-the-art ballpark,” Hops Vice President of Sales Brett Breece said in a statement. “This incredible venue will be the backdrop for unforgettable Hops games, concerts, and community events, creating lasting memories for generations to come."
The deposits cost $50. The team is giving priority to fans who have already purchased ticket packages for the 2025 season.
Construction crews broke ground on the stadium earlier this summer. The space will be the first major entertainment venue the Portland area has welcomed in 30 years, according to the team.
But the ballpark comes with a $120 million price tag. The Hops secured the full funding in March, after receiving financial support from state and county officials.
Hillsboro City Council approved a 40-year lease agreement between local officials and the team. The venue is expected to bring $190 million in economic output to Washington County, according to Portland-based economic consulting firm ECONorthwest.
