AN 11-YEAR-OLD boy is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car.

Police in Chester are appealing for information and witnesses following the serious collision at around 5.12pm – after the school-run rush hour – on Tuesday.

Cops attended the scene on Wrexham Road, Chester, and found that a collision had occurred between a grey Nissan Qashqai and a pedestrian.

The pedestrian, an 11-year-old boy, sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to Alder Hey hospital for further treatment.

His injuries are thought to be life-threatening, cops said.

The driver of the Nissan, a 28-year-old woman from Wrexham, was not injured during the incident.

No arrests have been made.

As part of ongoing enquiries, officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with information or CCTV footage to come forward.

Inspector Anton Sullivan, of the Constabulary’s Roads and Crime Unit, said: “I understand that this is a considerably distressing incident and our thoughts remain with the victim’s family.

“As part of our enquiries to establish the circumstances that led up to the collision, we are asking for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or has any information about it, to please contact us.

“The same goes for anyone who may have captured the incident on dashcam or on CCTV.”

Anyone with any information or CCTV or dascham footage is asked to contact Cheshire Police via 101 or online, quoting IML-1961446.
