Missouri prosecutor says he won't charge Nelly after an August drug arrest
Rapper Nelly won’t face drug charges following his arrest this summer at a St. Louis-area casino. St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney Wesley Bell said in a statement Tuesday that his office doesn't believe that the facts in the case warrant charges. The 49-year-old rapper grew up in the St. Louis area. His birth name is Cornell Haynes II. He was arrested in August at Hollywood Casino & Hotel in Maryland Heights, Missouri, for allegedly possessing illegal ecstasy pills. Nelly’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, said at the time that the search that allegedly found four ecstasy pills was unwarranted.
