BIG trouble for MS Dhoni, High Court issues notice to former CSK captain in Rs 150000000 fraud case
The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday issued a notice to cricket star Mahendra Singh Dhoni in a case filed by his former partners Mihir Diwakar and Soumya Das. Diwakar and Das are directors of Aarka Sports and Management Limited, and they had entered into an agreement with the former India and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain to open cricket academies using his name.
Alleging that they have cheated him, Dhoni filed a criminal complaint against them on January 5 in Ranchi. In the complaint petition, he alleged that the duo continued to open cricket academies using his name even after he revoked their authority in 2021.

The cricketer alleged that he was defrauded of Rs 15 crore. Diwakar and Das moved the high court, challenging the cognisance taken against them by the court of a judicial magistrate in Ranchi.
Dhoni has been ordered to appear in the matter by the high court and explain his stand.
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni was retained by the Chennai Super Kings as an ‘uncapped’ player ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction for Rs 4 crore. Dhoni is taking a Rs 8.5 crore salary cut to play for CSK as his previous salary with the franchise was Rs 12.5 crore.
CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan opened up on Dhoni’s future in the Indian Premier League. “As far as Mahi bhai (brother) is concerned, you know he keeps everything to himself. It comes out at the last moment only. Knowing the passion he has for CSK, and also knowing the following he has, and he also mentioned in one of the interviews that he’ll play his last game in Chennai, we’re hoping that he will continue as far as CSK is concerned.
“As long as MS wants to play, the doors are open. Knowing him, his commitment, and his dedication, I’m sure he’ll always take the right decision,” said Viswanathan during a discussion with Rayudu on Provoke TV.
