I spent hours giving my home a Home Bargains Christmas makeover with giant inflatables but people say it’s way too much
A WOMAN has revealed that she has given the front of her home an epic Christmas makeover.
With 42 days until December 25th, using bargain buys from Home Bargains and The Range, the savvy mum was able to bring the festive spirit to her home.
A mother has given her home a festive makeover, using light-up trees and huge inflatables[/caption]Thrilled with her overhaul, which features huge inflatables and light-up trees, Vicky Donley took to social media to share a close-up look at her festive scene, leaving many open-mouthed.
But people were left divided by the makeover – whilst many thought it looked ‘amazing’, others described it as ‘too much’ and shared concerns on how it would cope with adverse weather.
Posting on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a private Facebook group with 2.5 million members, Vicky shared a picture of her beautiful display.
Alongside the post, she wrote: “Not set out properly yet but how unreal is the inflatable from Home Bargains for £49.99!”
Not only was Vicky thrilled with her inflatable house which she put in front of her front door, but she was also impressed with her light-up trees and LED reindeer too.
She continued: “The light up trees [cost] £35 each from B&Q, the LED reindeer [was] on offer for £20.99 and North Pole [was] on offer for £29.99, both from The Range.”
Vicky confirmed that to ensure her discounted festive scene isn’t blown away by a strong gust of wind, she used string and gazebo weights to secure down her inflatables.
Vicky’s post has clearly left many open-mouthed as it was shared just one day ago, but has quickly racked up 497 likes and 274 comments.
Social media users quickly flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on Vicky’s decorations – but there was many varied opinions.
One user beamed: “Absolutely stunning.”
A second wrote: “I need it!”
Whilst someone else chimed in: “Looks amazing.”
I’m not sure if it’s too much

However, at the same time, not everyone was as complimentary, as one person said: “Let us know if it stays up.
“I’ve bought so many inflatables from there for outdoor use and eventually once the wet gets inside the fan it stops inflating it.”
Are the Christmas bits out earlier this year?
It often feels like Christmas decorations and products start appearing in stores earlier each year.
Retailers typically begin to stock Christmas items well before the holiday season to capitalise on early shoppers and to extend the buying period. Here are a few reasons why it might seem like Christmas bits are out earlier this year:
Extended Shopping Season
Retailers aim to extend the holiday shopping season to maximise sales. By putting out Christmas items earlier, they encourage people to start their holiday shopping sooner.
Consumer Demand
Some consumers prefer to plan and shop for Christmas well in advance, so stores cater to this demand by stocking holiday items earlier.
Marketing Strategy
Early displays of Christmas items can create a festive atmosphere and build anticipation, encouraging people to get into the holiday spirit and start spending.
Competition
Retailers compete to attract customers, and being the first to display holiday items can give them an edge.
Supply Chain Considerations
Given recent disruptions in global supply chains, stores might be putting out Christmas items earlier to ensure they have enough stock and to spread out the demand over a longer period.
Meanwhile, another added: “Sadly this wouldn’t last an hour in East London.
“Thieves would run away with it all.”
