Bears Insider Reveals Shane Waldron’s Likely Replacement
The Chicago Bears are facing a serious crisis. They’re on a three-game losing streak, falling to a 4-5 record and now sit at the bottom of the NFC North. The remaining schedule gets even tougher—the Bears have the hardest remaining schedule in the NFL based on opponents win percentages. Fans and media are increasingly calling for changes, though it’s unclear whether those would be at head coach, offensive coordinator, or elsewhere. Longtime Bears insider Bill Zimmerman from Windy City Gridiron has shared some insights on potential adjustments the team might consider this week.
“I expect Shane Waldron to be stripped of the play-calling duties and Thomas Brown to take over.”
Bill has consistently covered breaking news on the Chicago Bears, so his hints are credible. He doesn’t share information lightly, so when he suggests something, it’s worth taking seriously.
On Monday, Bears head coach Matt Eberflus stated, “There will be changes and adjustments made” to the offense, adding that he’s taking time to ensure these decisions are “the right decisions for the Bears.”
This aligns with the possibility that offensive play-calling changes could be imminent. While this shift may not immediately calm the current turmoil in Chicago, it could spark some much-needed life in an otherwise stagnant Bears offense.
Why not clean house?
In my opinion, these proposed changes are simply not enough. They feel like a PR move just to quiet some of the noise around Halas Hall. Spare me the excuse about “changing play-calling duties”—Matt Eberflus has twice failed to hire a competent offensive coordinator. The only acceptable outcome is for both Shane Waldron and Eberflus to be fired. But that won’t happen because the Bears are a franchise that doesn’t take things seriously. It’s shameful, and every Chicago Bears fan deserves better.
