Son arrested after father found dead in Clackamas County

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A Wilsonville man was arrested Sunday after his father was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds, authorities said.

According to the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, on Nov. 9 deputies responded to a home on South Ellis Road in unincorporated Clackamas County near Molalla where they found 70-year-old Michael James McCann lying outside, dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

After investigating, detectives identified McCann's son, 34-year-old Michael Morris McCann as a suspect. The next morning, Michael was taken into custody at his Wilsonville apartment by the Clackamas County SWAT Team.

McCann faces several charges including second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the sheriff's office.
