Tottenham battling Arsenal and Liverpool for Sweden international
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly set their sights on signing a young midfielder, who is turning a lot of heads with his performances in the Bundesliga.
Spurs going big on Swedish talent?
In Dejan Kulusevski, Tottenham have one of Sweden’s best players in their ranks, and in the summer, they recently signed a player who was widely considered to be the best young talent in the country: Lucas Bergvall.
It has now emerged that Spurs are also looking to sign another young midfielder from the Scandinavian country who is winning plenty of admirers around Europe.
The player in question is Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Larsson, who has not only emerged as one of the best young players in the Bundesliga but has also become a regular in the Swedish national team in 2024.

This update comes from Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, who took to social media to reveal that Spurs are one of several clubs monitoring Larsson ahead of the January window.
The journalist stated that the 20-year-old is also on the radars of Liverpool and Arsenal, as well as several top Bundesliga sides.
However, he explained that Frankfurt are keen to hold onto their starlet, and with the player contracted to the club until 2029, they are well protected amidst potential transfer approaches.
Why does Postecoglou want a midfielder?
Based on the recent transfer reports, it would appear that Postecoglou wants to add a box-to-box number eight to his squad.
The Tottenham head coach is seemingly happy for Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma to battle for the number six role, and for James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski to fight it out for the advanced eight role.
What he seems to be after is another young, energetic all-round midfielder to compete with Pape Matar Sarr.
