Book Review: Richard Price returns with another portrait of urban America, ‘Lazarus Man'
Richard Price may be the street’s premiere storyteller. The writer behind some of the best episodes of HBO’s “The Wire” as well as multiple novels set in urban America, like “Clockers” and “Freedomland,” returns with “Lazarus Man.” Associated Press reviewer Rob Merrill writes that the “novel draws you in with its authenticity,” as it tells the stories of a handful of characters following the collapse of a tenement house in East Harlem. The book is more of a tapestry than any traditional storytelling structure. “Lazarus Man” is on sale Tuesday.
