CNN, citing two informed sources on Monday, November 11, reported that Donald Trump offered the position of U.S. ambassador to the United Nations to Elise Stefanik, a Republican representative in the U.S. House.

CNN described Elise Stefanik as one of Trump’s staunchest supporters in the U.S. Congress.

In 2014, Stefanik made history as the youngest woman elected to the U.S. Congress at the time.

Currently, Linda Thomas-Greenfield holds the position of U.S. ambassador to the United Nations.

If appointed, Stefanik’s selection as U.S. ambassador to the UN would reflect Trump’s continued influence within the Republican Party and his preference for loyal allies in key positions.
