Australia media trolls Pat Cummins for missing Pakistan match to attend Coldplay concert

The Mohammad Rizwan-led Pakistan shocked Australia and recorded their first series victory Down Under since 2002. After losing the first ODI of the 3-match series, Pakistan went on to win the remaining 2 matches to triumph in the series by 2-1.

Many top Australia players were not a part of the series as they have been given in order to prepare for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series which is set to commence from November 22. While the Baggy Greens were getting decimated by Pakistan in the 3rd ODI in Perth, skipper Pat Cummins was enjoying a Coldplay concert with his wife in Sydney.

Pat Cummins’ wife Becky shared the duo photo on her Instagram story with the caption: “Excitement levels are high!”

However, the Australian media wasn’t too kind on Cummins. Sydney Morning Herald wrote a news piece titled, “Why Cummins was at Coldplay while Australia were smashed”. On the other hand, The Australian’s piece on the incident was titled as: “Cummins’ concert jaunt a cold start to summer.”

Former Australia skipper also wasn’t impressed with the team management’s decision of resting senior players in the third and final ODI against Pakistan, a move that contributed to the Men in Green’s historic ODI series triumph.

“I’m just a bit confused. With 11 days between now and the first Test, why can’t the Aussie boys who are part of this Test series play in the one-dayer?” Clarke said.
