Mary Trump: Election results 'worst possible scenario that we could have expected' 

President-elect Trump’s niece Mary Trump said her uncle’s victory last week was the “worst possible scenario that we could have expected.” 

“As far as I’m aware, the House still hasn’t been called, but leaving that aside to the extent that we can, the results we received on Tuesday were the worst, literally the worst possible scenario that we could have expected,” she said during her weekly “Ask Mary Anything... within Reason” forum on Sunday. 

The psychologist has been outspoken in criticizing her uncle, authoring several books about him and supporting his Democratic opponents.  

“I almost feel like we shouldn’t be surprised, but I’m shocked,” she said on the forum. “I am questioning all sorts of things about my belief system, the concept of evolution. I don’t know. Just how, how, how this happened. I’m trying really hard to take the personal stuff out.” 

President-elect Trump’s decisive victory last week over Vice President Harris has led to larger conversations about the future of the Democratic Party and where it went wrong. Even though the GOP winner swept all seven swing states, his niece reminded people of the narrow margin of victory in the popular vote.  

“Apparently, not enough people care,” Mary Trump said. “So that’s not what we’re talking about anymore. What we’re going to be talking about is, what are we going to do about it?”
