NJ Transit gives free rides for Veterans Day
NEW JERSEY (PIX11) – Veterans and active military personnel can get free rides on NJ Transit Monday for Veterans Day.
Bus, rail and light rail rides will be completely free for people who show a military ID card, Veterans Administration ID, veterans organization membership card or wear a military uniform. The discount runs all day on Monday.
“Whether going to the country’s largest Veterans Day parade in New York City, heading to ceremonies around New Jersey or simply commuting to work or school, veterans and active members (in or out of uniform) can utilize any portion of the bus, rail and light rail network all day on Monday,” representatives of NJ Transit said.
It’s one of many freebies and deals for veterans across New York and New Jersey, including sales at Dunkin’ and Starbucks. Target, Ikea and Home Depot will also run discounts for veterans in-store throughout November.
