11/11/2024: Breezy, mostly dry Veterans Day
The Latest Storm Tracker Forecast from meteorologist Matt Mackie:
Good news for those with outdoor plans this Veterans Day - After overnight rain, most are waking up to dry conditions. Only isolated, stray, light rain showers are expected up north through the day. Most stay dry.
Additionally, with the way the winds are blowing behind last night's rain, cleaner air is filtering into the region. You should not notice nearly as much wildfire smoke as yesterday.
Expect high temperatures around 60 in the Capital District, with at times blustery conditions. By the standards of November, it's pretty good holiday weather!
A few more showers may drop down from the north after sunset. We'll stay breezy overnight with lows in the upper 30's and low 40's.
Tomorrow looks much cooler, with even more in the way of wind. It'll certainly feel like fall with highs in the upper 40's to low 50's.
Wednesday and Thursday are even chillier, with morning lows in the 20's and afternoon highs only in the 40's! At least the winds will ease up!
Slightly more mild for Friday and the weekend, with highs in the low 50's and morning lows back above freezing for Saturday and Sunday.
