14-year-old driver killed in crash at Elmwood, Amherst
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A 14-year-old driver was killed in a three-vehicle crash at Elmwood Avenue and Amherst Street late Sunday night, according to Buffalo police.
Police observed a car going at a high rate of speed around 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the area of Elmwood and Hertel Avenue. When officers tried to pursue the vehicle, the driver, a male, crashed into a vehicle traveling eastbound on Amherst and then spun and hit a third vehicle going north on Elmwood.
The driver was pronounced dead at ECMC.
The crash is under investigation. Per state law, the Attorney General's office has been contacted and will conduct their own investigation.
