“Keep him away…”: Ex-India star gives SHOCK message to BCCI regarding Gautam Gambhir
India head coach Gautam Gambhir laid down his team’s plans for the upcoming Border-Gavaskar series in the press conference held on Monday. Gambhir talked about a variety of subjects in the conference like skipper Rohit Sharma’s likely absence from the opening Test in Perth and his likely replacements.
However, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar left a rather message to the BCCI after the event and asked them to not send Gambhir for a press conference again.
“Just watched Gambhir in the press conference. May be wise for @BCCI to keep him away from such duties, let him work behind the scenes. He does not have the right demeanour nor the words when interacting with them. Rohit & Agarkar, much better guys to front up for the media,” Manjrekar wrote on X.
During the press conference also confirmed that in Rohit’s absence, it will be pace spearhead and vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah, who will be handed the captaincy.
“Bumrah is the vice-captain, so obviously he will (lead the team). If Rohit is not available, he is going to lead in Perth,” Gambhir said at the press conference.
