Long-serving CyBC journalist dies
Long-serving CyBC journalist Soula Hadjikyriakou has died, her family announced on Monday.
‘‘You lived a life full of challenges, joy, happiness, success and difficulties. You slipped through the hands of death a lot of times. You were always a fighter. Your time has come, your time to rest after 23 years of fighting cancer. You left a lot of love behind you. This is how we are going to remember you,” he husband Evangelous wrote in a social media post.
Soula started her career in journalism at ERT before moving three years later to CyBC as an assistant program producer. A year later, she moved to the news department and worked in both radio and television, reaching the position of deputy director of news and current affairs.
She covered the most important events in the recent history of Cyprus, producing documentaries on missing persons and aspects of the Cyprus problem.
