'My Hero Academia' Season 8? Anime TV Show Renewal Status & Release Date Revealed
My Hero Academia is one of the most beloved anime TV shows out right now.
The Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from July 2014 to August 2024, with its chapters collected in 41 volumes as of August 2024. It was adapted into an anime TV series by Bones, with the first season airing from April to June 2016 in Japan.
Here’s a plot summary, via Crunchyroll: “Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered ‘quirk,’ Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.”
The show has been on ever since, all the way up to its seventh season, which just aired from May to October 2024.
Of course, fans are curious to know if the series will continue for Season 8.

My Hero Academia is getting a Season 8, and it will be the final season. It will premiere in 2025.
The news was first revealed in a pullout in a recent issue of Shonen Jump, then officially announced upon the release of the seventh season’s final episode in October.
There are no specific dates yet, but one popular guess is April 2025 in line with the spring anime season. The other possibility is October 2025 for the fall anime season.
My Hero Academia Season 8 will pick up where the previous season left off and will adapt the remainder of the Final War arc (chapters 398-424 of the manga) and the Epilogue arc (chapters 425-430).
There is no episode count yet, but as Games Radar points out, the previous season adapted roughly three manga chapters per episode, so the final season could round out to about 13 episodes.
The returning voice cast should likely include Deku (Daiki Yamashita), All Might (Kenta Miyake), All For One (Akio Otsuka), and Shigaraki (Koki Uchiyama).
