'Petty politics': Republicans melt down over Democratic leader's disruptive move

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is causing Republicans to lash out with his latest move to disrupt the upcoming Senate orientation.

It has been reported that Schumer, a prominent Democrat, will not allow Dave McCormick (R-PA) to attend the orientation this week in part because Democratic incumbent Bob Casey hasn't conceded the race. The Associated Press has already called the race for McCormick, but Casey believes he could still pull ahead as the final ballots are counted.

Donald Trump's allies in the Senate didn't take the news well.

Ted Cruz said, "Chuck Schumer is an election denier."

"Chuck, the country overwhelmingly rejected your petty tyranny when they voted you out of being the Majority Leader," the Republican Senator and Trump surrogate said. "Do the right thing and invite Senator-Elect McCormick to orientation."

Senator Marsha Blackburn also chimed in:

playing petty politics by moving to block Senator-elect Dave McCormick from orientation. Pennsylvania voters have spoken, and they’ve chosen McCormick to represent them in the Senate. There’s nothing left to debate."

Senator Chuck Grassley also added, "2 the Senate. It’s up to the VOTERS Pennsylvanians elected Republican Dave McCormick we should see him at senate orientation this week."

Senator Eric Schmitt said, " to participate is Senate orientation next week even though the race has been called."

"Chuck is an 'election denier' and this is an 'assault on our democracy,'" Schmitt added on Sunday. "Am I doing this right [Schumer]
