Will mail be delivered on Veterans Day?
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – Monday marks Veterans Day, a federal holiday dedicated to honoring people who have served in the military. The observance will result in certain postal carriers not delivering mail, while others will operate as normal.
The United States Postal Service recognizes Nov. 11 as one of 11 federal holidays; therefore, it does not deliver any mail. Post offices will also be closed, with all USPS services returning to normal on Tuesday. DHL also suspends operations on all public holidays, including Veterans Day.
As for United Parcel Service, all store locations will be open and scheduled deliveries will arrive. However, UPS SurePost and Mail Innovations deliveries will require an additional business day, since they route through USPS.
FedEx will also operate its stores and deliveries as normal, but FedEx Express and FedEx Ground Economy services may be delayed due to USPS closures. Amazon will deliver on Veterans Day, since it is not one of the company’s seven observed holidays.
The holidays USPS observes are: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
