HOUSE OFFICERS ACCREDITATION: MDCN VISITS ORILE-AGEGE GENERAL HOSPITAL
The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has granted accreditation to Orile-Agege General Hospital (OAGH) to train Medical and Dental House Officers during a recent visit.
The delegation from MDCN, led by the Deputy Registrar, Dr. Nwakanma Nnaemeka, visited the hospital alongside a team from the Lagos State Health Service Commission headed by its Permanent Secretary, Dr. Benjamin Eniayewun.
Welcoming the team to the Hospital, the Medical Director/CEO of OAGH, Dr. ‘Sola Pitan said the anticipated visit marks a significant milestone for Orile-Agege General Hospital, setting the stage for enhanced growth, holistic service delivery and the pursuit of optimal patient care.
“With this accreditation, we reaffirm our commitment to excellence in healthcare, aligning with our mantra of patient-centred care (A ‘n Saajo n’bi). Orile Agege General Hospital is a beacon of healthcare delivery in Lagos State with a focus on advancing quality healthcare”, Pitan said.
The MD/CEO revealed that the approval followed a comprehensive inspection and assessment of the Hospital facilities by the MDCN team as well as its readiness to host and train House Officers on an annual basis.
He expressed his gratitude to the MDCN team for their dedicated efforts and accrediting Orile Agege General Hospital, affirming the hospital’s commitment to meeting and maintaining the Council’s standards.
After the inspection of facilities at the hospital, the Deputy Registrar of MDCN, Dr. Nwakanma Nnaemeka expressed his team’s satisfaction with Orile Agege General Hospital and its preparedness for housemanship training.
