One dead, one hospitalized after head-on crash on Newberg-Dundee bypass

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A two-vehicle crash on the Newberg-Dundee bypass killed one and hospitalized another Saturday morning, according to Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue.

Just before 8 a.m., police and fire crews from the area responded to the bypass on reports of a serious head-on crash.

On arrival, they found two heavily damaged vehicles with one of the drivers dead at the scene.

Crews then had to close the bypass to traffic to extricate the other driver, who was then taken to the hospital, officials said.
