State Police investigate fatal storage unit fire

RICHMONDVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- State Police are looking into a storage unit fire in Richmondville where remains of a person were found. Troopers said the fire broke out on Friday, Nov. 8, around 4:09 a.m.

Both law enforcement and fire officials responded to Superior Storage Units on Main Street after a fire was reported within multiple units. Once the fire was extinguished, the remains of a person were found in one of the units.
