Morrison Determined To Build Momentum
Hibs forward Kirsty Morrison spoke with the media ahead of Sunday's trip west.
Playing at Petershill Park against Brian Graham’s side in the SWPL Cup quarter-final, Kirsty said she, and the rest of the squad are aware of the expectations set upon them.
“It’s going to be a really important month for us. It’s important we continue to build momentum. If we can start the month off in winning ways, then it can propel us forward.”
“Going into every game, we do analysis and look at how we can hurt the opposition."
"We’ve done our work on the pitch, but we’re focusing on ourselves and where we can win the game.”
“Hibs has always been a club with a rich history in the cups; We’re looking to continue that success.”
Facing Hearts next week and going toe-to-toe with Partick Thistle again, this time in league action in a fortnight – Kirsty said that even though it could be a testing month, the squad will prepare no different to any other month.
“We try and go into each game with the same mindset, and that’s to try and win each game. Obviously, that can look slightly different depending on who you’re playing, and if it’s a cup or league game. We’ll always try and focus on our strengths though.”
A playmaker and winger with plenty of attacking instincts, Kirsty has appeared in the last five successive matches this season. This co-incides with an unbeaten run that the squad will be looking to continue on Sunday.
On a personal note, Kirsty said she was enjoying testing herself in a competitive squad
“We’ve got a great squad and lots of competition so it's always hard to stay in the team, but as individuals, we’ve got to keep working hard and give Grant hard decisions to make."
"For me, I’ll keep doing what I’m doing and see where that takes me!”
