Its no secret that the Ambani family are foodies with a special liking for India’s rich street food. The Ambanis’ love for food was on full display at the lavish wedding of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani’s son, Anant Ambani with Radhika Merchant, earlier in July this year, where every kind of Indian delicacies one could imagine, including street food from various parts of India, was served to the guests.
However, amongst the variety of delicacies, one delicious treat stood out at the Anant Ambani-Radhika Merchant wedding– mouth-watering dahi vadas served by a humble street vendor from Jaipur, Rajasthan. Recently, a reel shared by foodpandits went viral on Instagram as the food vlogger had a chat with the street vendor who served dahi vada the the Ambani wedding.
“Pandit ji, where have I seen you before?,” the vlogger asks. “You would have seen me at the wedding of Anant Ambani, and I have been to Antilia (Mukesh Ambani’s house) three times,” the vendor responds with a smile.
The street vendor, who runs Pandit Ji Vade Wale in Jaipur’s Ashok Nagar, revealed he has served food to the Ambanis on multiple occasions and even prepared food for them in their private kitchen, as he flaunted the caterer’s pass from Anant Ambani’s wedding as proof.
Pandit Ji Vade Wale is a famous among food lovers in Ashok Nagar, known for his mouth-watering dahi vada, which he prepares in the the video. Pandit Ji takes two crispy dal vadas, adds a dollop of curd on top, and sprinkles his secret masala. Then he adds a variety of chutneys such as date chutney, mint chutney, and chole ki chutney, and finishes the savory treat by adding red hot chili paste, the video shows.
The Ambanis’ love for street food is well-known with some of their favorite dishes being Tamatar chaat from Varanasi’s Kashi Chaat Bhandar and Sev puri from Swati Snacks in Mumbai, and now we have found out that they also adore Pandit Ji’s savory dahi vadas.
