Ohio State injury report: Offensive lineman remains out for Purdue game
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – The Buckeyes return home after a massive road victory at Happy Valley, but the team will be without a few faces this week when it hosts Purdue, particularly up front in the trenches.
Left tackle Zen Michalski will miss his second consecutive game after suffering a lower body injury against Nebraska two weeks ago. Michalski was making his first career start in replacement of Josh Simmons, who is out for the season with a left knee injury.
Also out is tight end Will Kacmarek, who was sidelined with an undisclosed upper body injury after three snaps at Oregon. Head coach Ryan Day said Kacmarek is improving, but likely a couple weeks away from returning.
New to the injury report is tight end and Olentangy grad Jace Middleton, along with reserve CB Calvin Simpson-Hunt.
Ohio State injury report (Week 11 vs. Purdue)
- TE Will Kacmarek
- OL Zen Michalski
- TE Jace Middleton
- CB Calvin Simpson-Hunt

- RB TC Caffey (season)
The Buckeyes (7-1) are 37 ½ point favorites over the Boilermakers (1-7), who will be without staring defensive lineman Damarjhe Lewis. Fellow starting DL Jamariouis Dinkins is questionable as well.
Ohio State looks to keep pace in the College Football Playoff rankings, which debuted Tuesday and placed the Buckeyes second overall. Based on Oregon’s top ranking, however, OSU would play as the number five-seed in the first round and host a first-round game on Dec. 20 or 21.
