LaGuardia Airport Terminal B experiencing disruptions due to police activity

QUEENS (PIX11) -- Some flights in and out of LaGuardia Airport were disrupted Saturday morning because of police activity at Terminal B, according to a social media post from the airport.

Port Authority police say Terminal B was evacuated because of reports of a suspicious package around 6:29 a.m. The package was reported in a non-public area and was investigated by multiple agencies.

Passengers who had not yet gone through TSA were evacuated from Terminal B out of an abundance of caution, Port Authority officials say. Passengers who had already gone through security were allowed to stay inside.

The terminal was given the all-clear just before 8 a.m., authorities say. As Terminal B reopens and flights get back on track, NotifyNYC warns that travelers should expect traffic delays heading to LaGuardia Airport.
